"I have upheld the constitution and laws of Pakistan. Please, look at Pakistan from Pakistan eyes… not with the eyes of your misconceived Western views of human rights and democracy," he added.

Meanwhile, as Musharraf finishes up his
"don't hate me" tour through Europe with his stop in Davos, the
fighting continues in South Waziristan. If U.S. Treasury Secretary
Henry Paulson can't get away from the subprime mess long enough to attend, how does Musharraf justify his ski resort retreat?
Some senators are taking a stance against warrant-less wiretaps; others seem to think it's okay to break the law and get away with it. Will
disagreement over telecomm immunity create fissure in the democratic party? Or is Senator Feingold's disappointment over Senator Reid's stance another indication that Reid should be canned as majority leader?
"Mrs. Clinton is not a bad choice, I just think Mr. Obama is the best choice." Responding to advertisements in which basketball legend Magic Johnson endorses presidential candidate Hillary Clinton,
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar entered the campaign game in support of Barack Obama. Let the fun with sports metaphors begin!
“This agreement is a big win for the American people.” Paulson, Boehner and Pelosi announced a tentative agreement on the anticipated stimulus package with praise from the President and the Speaker, but
others see the package as less than ideal.
And, to add a bit of good to today's news, here's another
reason I adore the UAE.
