Default Rep. Lloyd Doggett Endorses Obama for President

Doggett for Obama

Obama Gets Front-Runner Treatment

U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) today endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States.
“When he stands up, all the world will know that America really has changed, that the disastrous policies of the last eight years have ended,” said Congressman Doggett, a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention. “That is why today, I am announcing my vote for and endorsement of Barack Obama.”
“My decision is not based on what is wrong with another candidate, but what is right with him.”
“Today, I am adding one more delegate vote to Senator Obama’s total, and I am adding my every effort to help win the support he needs among our neighbors here in Central Texas, win the nomination nationwide, and win the general election in November, so that in 334 days, President Obama can take the helm and set the new course that this country so needs.”
Rep. Lloyd Doggett casts superdelegate vote for Obama

Representative Lloyd Doggett cast his superdelegate vote for the Texas primary Wednesday.
Doggett said his decision to back Sen. Barack Obama was based on a variety of factors.
“Senator Obama and I have discussed and shared concerns, and I believe that he is the person best suited to address ending this horrible war in Iraq. Addressing not only fossil fuels when it comes to climate change but fossilized ideas.”
Doggett said he decided to speak out early because he thinks Texas could be decisive in the Democratic nomination.
He added that he has great respect for Hillary Clinton and John McCain.
My respect for Lloyd Doggett and my inspiration from Barack Obama have renewed my hope for the future. Two people who actually demonstrate caring for those they represent, on the same team, is irresistible. BossKitty joins Lloyd Doggett’s support of Barack Obama. That said, I do respect the remaining candidates from both parties. But, the one decision I remain firm on is, I will never again trust the Political Party that brought two Bushes into the WhiteHouse. I will never vote for the party that has devastated this country,(*) once the proud emblem of freedom and progress for the world to emulate. I would actually fear a world who behaves like the US does now. Disinformation, on the scale of Communist USSR, is what the US must recover from. Open, representative government, was the whole purpose of the US Constitution. Barack Obama is a Constitutional Scholar who knows where the repairs must begin.
