Default Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: A Neighborly Visit?

The thought of a long lasting relationship between Iraq and the U. S. must be really frustrating for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Everything he says and does is geared at uniting the Middle East against the West, and yet he shamelessly strolls around Iraq pretending to be the friendly neighbor who will stand with Iraq against the Americans who have sacrificed thousands of lives to liberate Iraqis from tyranny.

Concise and to-the-point editorial at Investor's Business Daily berates the Iranian president for his inopportune visit and his baseless accusations against the United States:
"If there wasn't so much in the balance, the Iranian president's excursion to Iraq would be comical. Here's the president of a country that spent most of the 1980s at war with Iraq, with over a million casualties, a country that's now the leading terrorist sponsor state in the world, and which is sending bombs and bombers into Iraq to foment as much chaos as it can. And he comes to Iraq to accuse the U.S. of importing terrorism."
Ahmadinejad has the audacity to speak of terrorism in the region as if his country did not harbor terrorists.......as if the weapons used by the terrorists were not Iranian made and supplied....as if every word he utters to his people did not incite hatred and violence against the U. S.:
"Six years ago, there were no terrorists in our region," Ahmadinejad said after meeting with an Iraqi Shiite leader. "As soon as the others landed in this country and the region, we witnessed their arrival and presence."
What makes Ahmadinejad's remarks even more galling is the "brotherly" and "emotional" bond growing between him and Iraq's Kurdish Sunni president, Jalal Talabani. We suppose that by now we Americans should be accustomed to the ingratitude of every nation we support, liberate......and die for. What we cannot get used to is the innate stupidity of countries like Iraq who let themselves be hoodwinked by hypocritical tyrants like Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Castro. Maybe it's time we understood that, regardless of our noble efforts, some people just value hatred and violence more than they do freedom and prosperity.
