The Spanish-language daily
Hoy reports the opinions of Venezuelans, Colombians and Ecuadoreans living here in the states:
Constantino Batista of Venezuela: "Chavez' words and threats are pure politics intended to distract the people from their real problems."
Crismil Delobrega of Venezuela: "No one in our countries is thinking of, nor wants, war, but unfortunately we have a terrorist as president."
Nancy Guerra of Ecuador: "Our country is in a bad economic situation and is manipulated by Correa, who is following Chavez."
Juan Jaramillo of Colombia: "As much Chavez as Correa want to get revenge on Uribe because he doesn't give any credence to their absurd ideas."
Giovanny Morales of Colombia: Chavez wants to attack Colombia because it is the only country that won't follow the Bolivarian game that he invented."
Looks like immigrants here in the U.S. (at least those interviewed by Hoy New York) have reached consensus; Chavez is to blame.
What's your take?
