The question has come up before, which side in the marriage debate really cares about marriage? In
a recent comment on this site, a commenter by the name of
Larry had this to say about the importance of marriage:
I have never encountered anyone, straight or gay, as obsessed with marriage as you guys are. Newsflash - the rest of the world is focused on more important - not to mention interesting - topics. Like dog ownership.
So according to neutered marriage supporter Larry, marriage ranks somewhere lower in social importance than dog ownership. At least as far as Larry is concerned, there's no doubt which side is paying attention to marriage and which is paying attention to something else. Not surprisingly, Jane Know
* who also supports neutering marriage,
completely agrees:
LOL at Larry's comments. I agree.
So, do all neutered marriage activists hold marriage in similar low esteem? Well, I'll just point out that not one disagreed with Larry in that thread. Let's see if any have anything to say about Larry's comment now that it is on the front page.
* Earlier Jane Know
expressed support for neutering marriage because it would weaken the moral authority of the institution. You'll note no marriage neuterist disagreed with
that sentiment, either.
