Rick Noriega
suspended his campaign website for 24 hours today, in observance of the over 4,000 Americans killed in Iraq to date and to highlight the failed policies that got us there:
Yesterday we reached the terrible milestone of 4,000 Americans dead in the misguided war in Iraq.
395 Texans and their families have paid the ultimate sacrifice and I ask you to take the time you would have spent on my website today offering them your prayers and your thanks for the heroic service of their loved ones.
We must also offer the country a new direction so that more of our young men and women are not lost.
It's a simple, moving tribute.
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton each put out statements on the passing of this grim milestone.
John McCain's statement was conspicuously absent - though he did find time to issue a statement about Taiwan's election.
On one side, we've got candidates who understand the tragedy that is Iraq and who are committed to ending it. On the other side, we've got silence. Who are you going to vote for?
