Well he will soon be tarred and feathered by the so called "scientific community". Of course Global Warming is a farce, look historically and see the change from warming to ice age in the papers every 30 years. If you don't have fear how can you get people to follow your idiocy?

Never mind that he's a weatherman, not a climatologist.

Which may explain why some of his claims are simply wrong.

Take the claim that the 1930s were the hottest decade, not the 1990s. That's based on a corrected dataset NASA released last year. Here's a discussion of the basic claim made by global-warming disbelievers.

But the corrected NASA dataset covers only North America, not the globe. When you look at the entire dataset, the warming trend remains crystal clear.

He also claims that temperatures haven't risen since 2001. Which is simply wrong. Here's a good discussion of recent temperature trends, along with explanations for why not all causes are equal:

First, it's not more recent: the NASA link was last updated on March 10, 2008.

Second, a one-year fluctation is meaningless. The Earth's temperature fluctuates for lots of reasons; what's important is the long-term trend. And it's an upward one.

Third, all the chart in your link shows is the fluctations in average temperature since 1988, a fraction of the longer timeline available in the NASA link.

Sure, but the point is that the temperature this year is expected to be the lowest in decades, so thats far more than one year.

Sure, its affected by lots of factors. That is the whole point. You can't point toward CO2 emissions as "the cause" of warming we don't even see. Further, the difficulty of measuring global temperature is enormous. Many different methods have been used over the years making comparing the data problematic and unreliable. In short, there is no substantial evidence the globe is warmer. And, if it is, the sun is a much more reasonable thing to "blame."
