I just received word that The Seminal will be one of
over 120 blogs covering the Democratic National Convention in Denver this August.
I, for one, am incredibly proud of the writers here whose amazing articles made this possible. And we're looking forward to providing you with up-to-the-minute reporting from the convention center.
Look for good things here in August.
Update:
Just a quick reminder of
the mess the DNCC has gotten itself into with these blog credentials, though:
The gist of the complaint is that the DNC said that it was looking for blogs that are effective at online organizing and that are "agents of change," yet the applications by several high-profile state blogs that many progressives consider to have established a solid track record in that regard were not granted. (Stoller and others suspect that state party officials were part of a nefarious plot to exclude blogs that they didn't approve of.)
Though many of the passed-over blogs are on the national blog list, they probably won't have floor access like the state blogs do.
And I'm still not sure minorities are appropriately represented. Here's hoping wonderful blogs like the Albany Project and Michigan Liberal get the access they deserve in Denver.
