My hat! FBI may allow hiring prior drug users! That we should live to see such things! And FBI leadership said the main reason for this change is that the CIA and State Department currently allow prior drug use (http://www.undergroundnews.com/open.php). Well, it's going from bad to worsen things get worse from hour to hour! CIA and FBI haven't been able to prevent 9/11 tragedy. And now I can preconceive how they will ensure our security after such indulgences for drug addicts…

Why shouldn't prior drug users be able to join such agencies? Ever think that maybe these indivuduals need some meaning and purpose in their lives? Having past drug problems does not automatically render someone incapable. As long as they are truly done with the negatives of their past, why not?

I would hardly say the FBI is going to start hire drug addicts. I think you're exaggerating the story just a bit. Actually they are loosening the standards for prior drug use. I believe the new policy will allow prior drug users if they haven't smoke marijuania for at least 3 years ans harder drugs for at least five years, or something like that. Anyway, even the old policy allowed prior drug users, as long as it was less then fifteen times or so. I wonder how they know how many times any given person has used drugs.
