I thank you, 12thMan. I thought that "neoconservatism" applied only to hawkishness in foreign policy and was an epithet used by liberals, but perhaps you can explain to me how it is a distinct ideology. Actually, I might want to explain something about paleoconservatism (which I gather was your choice). It is isolationist conservatism, and I don't think that you are an isolationist.

Paleoconservatism, strictly speaking, is isolationist conservatism, so that makes me curious about who the paleoconservative on the site is, since it is something of a marginalized ideology. Religious socialists like me tend to be egalitarian, which means that we're not as socially conservative as people on the right wing are, but we are definitely less permissive than secular socialists.
