He hasn't followed the extreme right's agenda and led the nation into a hellhole; shame on him.

IMO he hasn't pushed hard enough on health care, especially initially.

He promised he could close Gitmo, and he found out it would take much longer than he thought.

He hasn't pushed hard enough on ending DADT.

He also hasn't eliminated a deficit 30 years in the making in his first year.

The main thing he did wrong was get himself elected President. No matter what his policies were, half the country would have hated him. Politics are so divisive that no modern President will be spared fringe rhetoric and stupid theories.

A Republican President will be accused of being an authoritarian. While a Democratic President will be accused of being a socialist. The same thing happened to Clinton, the Bush senior, etcetera. The Government's been "out-of-control" since the civil-war.

Like Agent Zero said: he's being to much of a softie. He's way to much of a centrist - seeking support of an other party that clearly doesn't want to give him his place under the sun. It shows how deeply divided the US actually is, and that is something he can not solve on his own.

He threw all of his credit trough the window, with the debacle of Copenhagen. Not only him personally, but the American delegation in general.

The American delegation was SILENT almost all the time, or they went filibustering about some stupid points together with countries like Saoudi-Arabia. They sat there and were, embarassingly, quite during important negotiations. At the end Obama came in, put the Euros aside, and brokered a deal that lacked ANY ambition at all together with the Chinese.

Well, he can have the Chinese - see 2 months and an attack on Google later were it brought him.

And then - top of the bill - some days later he speeched "The United States of America are leading in the battle against climate change" - yeah right.
It were always the Europeans that tried to lead by setting the good example. I said "tried to lead" - because with this kind of negogiations the largest polluter have the greatest power, which the EU isn't.

He's done nothing wrong, that's just it.

1. He didn't take over the auto industry, but loaned them money and now with Toyota going down, GM and Ford look good. Good job President. O.
2. He didn't take over any banks. He loaned the huge ones money and believed the conservative CEOs and COO's would do the right thing. They didn't.
3. By sving big banks, smaller ones were able to stay open.
4. Our economy is turning around with manufacturing up.

Conservatives just complain and offer nothing.

He tried to include the Republicans in government for far too long and allowed a ground-swell of right-wing populist opinion to rise against him. Emboldened by this, right-wing Democrats stood against him.

A big mistake. He had no need to do that. He had enormous majorities in Congress and should have just pushed his legislation through.

Now he is paying the price.
