I want to hear some in-depth discussions about abortion. A possible example:
Should certain forms of contreception be legal since they operate as causing the body to abort the growing zygote, or prevent the fertilized egg from imbedding itself. If this is ok, then at what point should it be considered a life?

for me it's hard to decide....even though i'm pretty much a reform jew,i belive in equal rights for everyone,but this particualr matter is bothering me,and nothing is letting me decide.....why am i troubled?

on one hand,it's a woman's right to decide...sometimes she can't afford to raise the baby,and it's a burdon...
on the other hand,it can be considered a living thing,and like you don't want a mother murdering her just born child,you can't let her murder him before he was born.......

i guess my deicson is weather the unborn child is a living thing...if it is,i will object abortions.

I think that's what he's having trouble deciding. And I can completely understand. I'm at odds with it myself. When its simply a fertilized egg, its probably just an object. When it's a zygote, its still probably still an object. When it's developed to the point of having functioning organs, its probably a person. So at what point can one decide it passes the threshold between object and human?

When there is measurable brain activity. That seems reasonable to me.

Totally Against, which is why I'm going to go create a poll now.

I think if a thing is going to grow into something which will be alive then it should be considered a life. I'm against abortion except in cases where the mothers health is at risk.

I'm 100% pro-life, but it is a waste of time to try to convince others to support my view. It has nothing to do with gender or sexual morality. A genetically distinct human being exists from the moment of conception. I cannot justify destroying any human being. I support other mainstream feminist causes so much that even women have considered me to be too feminist. I'm very strongly in favor of affirmative action for women and I oppose prostitution and pornography as forms of sexist oppression. I have scolded several people on the site for referring to women in objectifying terms and I live by what I write. Having stated that, I cannot support killing anyone in any circumstances... even if I have to oppose mainstream feminism to follow my conscience.
