My friend sacrificed his life in the pursuit of freedom. He died for you, me and everyone else who has free speech. He may not have done it in a war everyone agrees on but he did it just the same. He sure didn't do it for the money. That's all I am trying to get across. I love my friend and I miss him and I thank him every day for his sacrifice and why the letter ever had to be picked apart is beyond me, but it was.
I will defend him and his sacrifice for his country. Why I have to defend him at all is absurd.
I have no qualms about that. I'm just wondering how this reached the Anticomintern pact.

Default sigh......

I don't either - in fact, I don't know why this thread is still going.

It has been explained to Therese that NO, her friend did not die fighting for our freedom.
As commendable as his service was, we should not let our emotions override the FACTS and our objectivity.

The 'w' regime used the fear emotion to convince people in America who hadn't done their homework that the invasion of Iraq was needed - and right (*)(*)(*)(*) now.

See what a lack of objectivity and lack of FACTS will do?

The continual dumbing-down of America allowed the 'w' regime to get away with this.

I agree. I don't think anyone is putting down your friend's service, or at least they shouldn't be. But not every military death is the result of fighting for freedom. I think he was fighting for Iraqi freedom.

Myself, I don't regret seeing Saddam punished. He was a bully and a tyrant. But should your friend's life have been spent getting rid of him? Hmmm. Some people think it is an easy question to answer. I don't.

Default Can we all agree that my friend died serving his country?

And let him rest in peace?
