Default Communist Party Immediate Program for the Crisis

It is shameful and unacceptable that any child should live in poverty, and that anyone should go hungry, homeless, without medicine, or without a living wage in our nation of such great wealth.

-Unemployment insurance for all workers.
- Moratorium on farm foreclosures
- Labor law reform to remove barriers to workers who want to join a union.
- No privatization of Social Security. Increase benefits.
- Universal prescription drug coverage administered by Medicare. Universal health care system.
- Restore social safety net. Welfare reform that includes job training, supports and living wages.
- Full funding for equal, quality, bi-lingual public education. No vouchers.

Make Corporate Giants Pay

- Close corporate tax loopholes.
- Restitution to workers' pensions.
- Strong regulation of financial industry.
- Regulation and public ownership of utilities
- Prosecute corporate polluters. Public works program to clean our air, water and land
- Aid to cities and states. Federally funded infrastructure repair and social service programs

Default You seem different.

Not to be rude, but I have never met a single soul who has thought this way on how to control the government. You did not clarify it, but I can infer that you are a communist? I do not consider this an insult, but you must realize by now the common stereotypes of communists. What do you think of those?

As for the ideas for the change in the nation, how do you intend to do that? Seeing that communists aren't exactly on the ballots these days, how do propose your rise in the US? Overthrow the government? And that will help the world/country how? More chaos. Please specify as to how you plan to do this.

I'll give my opinion on each idea:

Massive unemployment.
No incentive to work.
Major damage to the finance sector of the economy.
Even more unemployment.
Speeding up the self-destruction of a Ponzi scheme.
Rationing; driving up the national debt.
Again, no incentive to work.
Low quality, arbitrarily controlled education.

More unemployment; it would be better to eliminate corporate taxes entirely.
Again, just eliminate corporate taxes and corporations will stop bribing the government.
Economic slowdown.
Even more corruption and hypocrisy; let shareholders reform corporations.
Higher utility prices, higher taxes or both.
Here's a better idea: Build the infrastructure for alternative energy and make it a non-issue.
Extreme inefficiency; let local governments use local money.

Agreed.
Free trade causes inequality, but tariffs make everyone poor.
Partially agreed. We don't need Star Wars but we shouldn't be restricted by international arms agreements.
We need nuclear weapons as a deterrent. We can make the world safer by staying out of wars and out of diplomatic problems that are none of our business.
Partially agreed. We should cut the military budget but the government's role in welfare should be strictly limited.

Agreed.
Agreed.
We already enforce civil rights laws; affirmative action just hurts the economy.
Agreed.
Agreed; I'd open the borders.
Instead, we should ban all soft money and lobbying.
Universal education is a good idea, but it is best that education be private.

I think its rather unfortunate that stereotypes about us that have been around since the 1950s are still in the mainstream and until we ae given a chance to prove ourselves it will just be something we have to deal with. As far as making headway into major American politics I think its neccessary to stay peaceful so as not to perpetuate a stereotype but I also believe in self-defense and should the government ever take violent action against you its only justice to strike back. Now as to the program the first step would be to cut military spending which would save us billions if not trillions of dollars that would be put into funding education and healthcare. We all know that workers are motivated by their salary so a $12 wage increase would get workers to do their jobs better which would boom the economy because of their new-found dedication. By ending tax cuts to the rich we'd be getting even more money which would go toward regulating corporations and by regulating them we'd save the environment and save our food sources from contamination (fish etc). After removing laws that restrict workers from unionizing every worker would be able to go on strike which would force corporations to take better care of them. By putting utilities under public control corporations wouldnt be able to lower the quality for competition. By prosecuting corporate polluters more money will be had in which to help aid cities & states from disastes like Hurricane Katrina and corporations ould be forced to come up with cleaner solutions. By funding for equal, quality, bi-lingual education we'll be giving more youth a chance at success which helps our future and it would open up more job oppurtunities. Abolishing nuclear weapons would save us billions in what would've been military funding and it helps to end the problem of nuclear waste. By legalizing & enforcing immigrant rights we'd be beniffiting by bringing in the neccessary "un-skilled" labor that is needed to help keep society in motion and repealing the death-penalty would leave us to reform criminals and/or put them to work on public projects such as cleaning up litter etc.

Have you read Forceofthetruth's other part of the half-truths on this subject?
How are you going to cut military spending, just completely stop the war on terror? Leaving us open for assault. I would love details.

You must think of all the consequences of something before you put it into action.

I agree with you on the fact that you should not be stereotyped against. Freedom of speech is allowed in America, but it is just rude and ignorant to make comments such as those.

Your political party is interesting, I shall have to look into it.

How do you propose to get into office?

Who's fault is that, the government or the parents of the child that choose drugs over supporting their children?

Quote:
Meet the Needs of Working, Unemployed and Farm Families
- Raise the minimum wage to $12 an hour.
Which would probably quadruple unemployment, leading to even more widespread poverty.

Quote:
-Unemployment insurance for all workers.
With the unemployment rate going up thanks to your genius plan to raise the minimum wage, where does all this money come from to give people unemployment insurance?

Quote:
- Moratorium on farm foreclosures
Not sure what this would mean to be honest.

Quote:
- Labor law reform to remove barriers to workers who want to join a union.
Unions would lead to even greater unemployment, as they artificially drive up wages leading to companies moving operations overseas where wages are more suitable for the market.

Quote:
- No privatization of Social Security. Increase benefits.
Again, where would this money come from? Bush's plan for privatization comes out of the necesity to fix a system that is doomed to become bankrupt under current predictions, and you want to ADD to that burden? Under your plan, there will be far less workers in the workforce, meaning the burden for SS with the added benefits would mean a much higher percentage of their pay would be taken out to stabalize the system. Your plan would lead to economic disaster.

Quote:

More taxes.

Quote:
- Restore social safety net. Welfare reform that includes job training, supports and living wages.
More taxes.

Quote:

Lots more taxes.

I predict that over 50% of major US coporations would almost instantly leave the country to go elsewhere. This would create a hostile environment for our most productive companies.

Iraq would become a hotbed for terrorism. Worldwide terror would dominate and countries like the Taliban and Iran would destabalize not only the region, but the world with the absence of US military prescence and the end of military interventions. All your plan would do is punish those countries which follow the rules (like the Us).

I support some of these measures (especially student bill of rights and enforcing civil rights). But by protecting immigrant rights, do you mean illegal rights? Because to my knowledge, immigrants have all the rights that US citizens to.... illegal immigrants don't, however. And they shouldn't.

There is a reason communism isn't popular. It doesn't work. Your plan would lead to a widespread depression and worldwide calamity.

Default Why

do so many people fail to see that Marx made that crap up out of thin air? And that the utopian dream goes against human nature and will never happen.

Every generation of kids thinks that they are the first ones to discover that communism holds all the answers. Most of them grow out of it.

There are far more 18 year old Communists than there are 58 year old ones.

I read Force's criticism and he's right that everything must be taken into concideration. Unless every aspect is examined, studied, and solved with the utmost energy and precision a socialist society in America wont be necessary. It like how Mao explained that to be successful we must continue struggle in mass production, scientific experimentation, and class solidarity in order to be victorious. As to ending the "war on terror", we must negotiate with diplomacy and not with force. Al-Queda has made it clear that all they want is for the United States to stay out of the Middle East and from reading bin Laden's statments to the government I dont think he means anything against civilians and only sees the government as his enemy. With that basis I think the only way to end this entre conflict is to do what they want and leave; they dont want us there and many Americans dont want us there so why should we stay. We shouldnt. Some may think this would leave us open to assault but what we sometimes forget is that all these terrorist groups are following al Queda's example and bin Laden has extraordinary influence on these groups, after making peace with al-Queda bin Laden will declare victory and every other group will follow thus. Im happy to see that you dont jump to the conclusion that political power would be taken by violent force; some communists think it should be like the RCP but my party, the CPUSA and/or YCLUSA, believes that we must make our accomplishments democratically with the ballot so as to have the people's support. If we took it by force we'd be nothing more than fascists but we arent however afraid to defend ourselves if we are met with violence from the government. Were a party of and for the working class and so we feel that if we are to get a position it must be because the working class wants it and not because we forced our way in.
