U.S.-Canadian Border
For the life of me, I can't find online anywhere this article entitled, Northern Exposure, by Joel Mowbray (2005 Legion mag)! However, I recently found, read and reread his informative piece on border patrol.
From recall: The U.S.-Canadian border is approx. 5,000 miles long with approx. 1,000 active duty patrollers. Only 250-300 patrollers are active at any given time...
.......... for 5,000 miles stretch!
When anyone is held questionable or suspicious, often asylum is claimed to escape deportation. And most often- granted. How can it be that easy? Canada's lax laws, by default, make it a HAVEN for radical muslims to infiltrate. After that stomping ground, crossing into Michigan is a breeze.
There was a PBS broadcast about this awhile back I was pissed to miss--but from accounts was very in-depth and thought provoking..
With the same token, I don't think the U.S.-Mexican border should be ignored either--how can the tightening of borders become increased substantially and longterm? Immigrants seeking residence in the U.S. need to apply legally, not just given mass entrance..
