The reason for racism is that people tend to group like things and like people together based on whatever criteria they use to do so. There is always high error. It's not always racism as we know it per se. That is actually a comparatively new phenomenon. As long as people are willing to toss group-generalized traits on to all people within a group, such things will exist. Unfortunately that is part of the mental mechanism we have to help us make sense of the world. Those of us who come across more contradictions have a harder time generalizing groups of people. The result is that we are more tolerant, less racist, but more easily confused by our surroundings. We don't come up with as many bad solutions, but that is because we don't come up with solutions.

Nice one force, glad to see you back to supporting the welfare state. It's a system that saves millions of lives and helps may more stay out of poverty. Also it's the current best bet for solving global warming.

Prostitution doesn't have to be considered oppressive or slavery. Amsterdam legalized it, a prostitutes over there choose to do it. In my Amsterdam travel guide, it says prostitutes charge 50 euro for what amounts to a ten minute encounter. Add it up and they could stand to make 300 euro an hour!

Many strippers go home at the end of the week with a couple thousand dollars in their pocket, and female porn stars are rich and famous. Really, the only victims here are the men who are suckered into paying out huge sums of cash for virtually nothing.

Hell, if that's oppression, call me Sally and oppress me, baby!

I agree that pornography and prostitution aren't oppressive. Saying that they are well belittles women. Thats saying that women are weak and need defending. It says that women choose those roles because they are forced into it by men. I'm sorry, but most women aren't like that. Most women are strong and make thier own decisions, whether it be to prostitute themselves or climb the corporate ladder. I assure you...women do not need the government to defend them.

Honestly, if I could figure out a way to have women pay me to have sex, there are plenty of times in my life that I would have been all for it. And there is no way you could possibly believe that anybody would have been able to force me into it. I would have done it by my own will. Now to think that a woman would do it for any other reason is just degrading in my opinion.

force, i understand you only wanna help woman get on an equal level as men and thats very respectable, but im betting if you actually put your ideas on porn and prostitution into practice, all the women you are trying to protect- porn stars, strippers, legal prostitutes- would all despise you for it. they would probably accuse YOU of oppressing them.

I'll bet you won't respond to this, just like you never respond to any of my arguments against your views of porn/prostitution or drugs. Why is that? I think every time you read one of these posts you shut your eyes, cover your ears, and whisper, "Going to my calm place. Going to my clam place."
