UK helped Israel get nuclear bomb

Britain secretly sold Israel a key ingredient for its nuclear programme in 1958, according to official documents obtained by BBC News. Papers in the British National Archives show a deal was done to export 20 tonnes of heavy water for about £1.5m. This was vital for plutonium production at the top-secret Dimona nuclear reactor in Israel's Negev desert.
No "peaceful use only" condition was placed on its use. Officials said imposing one would be "over zealous".

I am a foreign policy isolationist, but morally, I fully support Israel against both Iran and Hamas. I hope that Israel bombs Iranian nuclear facilities, and I think that the effect of such a bombing would be showing other rogue, aggressive Arab states that want nuclear weapons what the consequences are.

I am an isolationist in that I think Israel, rather than the United States, should destroy Palestinian terrorists and Iran's nuclear facilities. American involvement in the Middle East makes both the United States and Israel less safe.

1.Israel has only one known nuclear factory, and if we do have nuclear weapons,we built plenty of them(200 by NewsWeek),we wouldn't place them in there......plus,we have the "Hebrew".....unknown Balistic missile.

Totally. We have our hands tied up in Iraq and Afghanistan. Besides, the world should get off their lazy arses and do a little help. We can't straigten out the world single handedly.

Shamgar, you're not too bright are you. The Arabs will hate us no matter what we do and there are three main reasons why.

1. We're the best. I might sound cocky or arrogant but it's true and there's no denying it. While I'm not saying our economy's going haiwire, we have seen better days (hey every country has ups and downs; you can't never stumble) and we have a President that wants to sell us off bit by bit to the rest of the world but when you look at the bigger picture, we are by far still the best. We have: the best economy, we're the most advanced, we have the best government. Look I don't want to sound racist but as a general rule when it comes to those arabs, if they can't top it they can't like it.
2. We're Christian. That's right. Christian. Over 85% of this country practices some form of christianity. You may not be and I respect that but in the eyes of people like Osama we're just bunch of infadels begging to be bombed.
3. They need us. You'll never hear one admitt it but they do. Once again, I don't mean to sound racist but where were they before we came. In the desert scratching sand. Where are they today? In the desert scratching sand, but now they have oil. Why? because we went over there and discovered it. Then they kicked us out, took the dericks, turned around and started selling it to us. We give them money. We give them aide. Whenever they get screwed up beyond even their liking we go over there and help them out. Then they promptly bite us in the arse. They hate our religion, they can't stand that we're better than them, and to top it all off, THEY NEED US. They need us a heck of a lot more than we need them and they can't stand it. It has nothing to do with who we are allies with. They'll say it is and slow people like you will accept it and won't look any farther into it than that. It has to do with the fact that we are everything they are not and they jealous for it.

So Shamgar, as you can see, they'll hate us no matter what they do. We give them oil. They bomb us. We give them money. They bomb us. We give them aide. They bomb us. We leave them alone. They bomb us. There's a pattern and it's as clear as day. They hate us and they'll never sto hating us.

I think that many Arab countries are backward (in the same stage of cultural development the West was in a milennium ago), but I don't think that they inevitably hate us. I think that our invasion of Iraq, combined with our abuses of human rights (no, not on nearly the same scale as Saddam Hussein's, but still wrong), has made the Arab world more extreme, leading to the nuclear crisis in Iran and the threat of Islamist control in Egypt. Certainly, Osama bin Laden is a maniac who would hate us regardless, but he wouldn't have any significant following if it weren't for our needless interventions in Iran and Iraq. We set up the Shah in Iran, thus leading to an Islamist takeover of that country. We sided with Saddam Hussein because of the wrongs of Iran, but he turned out to be evil as well and invaded Kuwait, forcing us to base ourselves in Saudi Arabia in the Gulf War, which led to Al-Qaeda's attacks on us. This is the sort of interventionism that needs to end. Note that none of this had anything to do with Israel or aid to Israel. Aid to Israel should continue.
