Isn't the war actually over? I thought we were in occupation and peacekeeping now.
Well, I guess it's considered war for the purpose of expanding executive power... I guess it's all pretty arbitrary since Congress doesn't declare war anymore. I guess since we've had a standing military, we've accepted a perpetual state of war in which the executive has no limitations in declaration of war (except that one resolution that Congress ignores because it would rather not get involved and leave all the blame on the President).
Oh well. I say the war is over. I suppose it's all a matter of perception. We won. It's just our prize really sucks.
