This has little to do with freedom of speech, and Mister Rose (a Zionist with ties to American Zionist neocons such as Daniel Pipes and Michael Ledeen) had entirely different motives, especially since Mister Rose was also the one who hypocritically rejected the offer of others to publish cartoons about Judaism and Israel, exposing his true motives.
In these troublesome times, there's no need to fan the flames, believe me the flames need no fanning, they are burning just fine in Fallujah, Baghdad, West Bank, Kabul etc and as tempting as it sounds to Zionist neocons, I’m sure the majority of people do not crave for this "clash of civilizations".
Who would want to increase tensions? Well, looking around it seems that the same group shows up every time, creating and increasing tensions, whether that person is called Daniel Pipes, Michael Ledeen or Flemming Rose is secondary info, they are all manifestations of the same deviant ideology which is fostering this idea of "clash of civilizations.
God bless,
