Sadly, you are probably right. Of the five-best known candidates in 2004, only Bush and Peroutka were pro-life (I would never vote for anybody who wasn't), and Bush, as little as I like his policies, is better than a theocrat like Michael Peroutka. I didn't vote in 2004 and I probably won't vote this year or in 2008 either, though it will depend on who is running.

who were we supposed to vote for, Kerry or Gore? Kerry just referred to 11 million illegals as "American citizens." I don't think Bush has done a particularly good job as President, yet I would vote for him 100 times out of 100 given the choice of Gore and Kerry.

He asked why people are STAYING with Bush, not why people voted for him in the first place. Those are two different things. That having been said, his disapproval rating of 62% (as of this morning) does suggest that many people who formally supported him don't anymore. Which makes sense. He's pretty much been a complete disaster.

I had about a dozen more candidates on my ballot. Kerry was only one of them.

My answer is the same either way. The alternatives were worse. And still are.
