Okay, this is probably another one of my crazy ideas, but I propose that the United States create something that I would call the Organization of Humane States, though it could be given any name. The benefits of the membership would include:

1. Any wrong against one of the nations, including military action, would be considered a wrong against all of the nations. A war waged against one of the states would be considered a war waged against all of them, a tariff charged against one of the states a tariff on all of them and so forth. Any such wrong would be responded to by equal and collective action on the part of all members of the OHS.

2. All humanitarian or developmental problems in any of the nations would be the responsibility of all of the nations. Thus humanitarian and developmental aid would be given to any OHS member unconditionally by all other members.

3. The share of the burden of such collective actions would be proportionate to the wealth of the countries in the organization, giving an incentive for improved human rights in developing countries, which would likely want to join the organization.

The requirements for membership would include the following:

1. There must be full legal equality for women and for all ethnic and racial groups.

2. No member of the OHS would be permitted to wage any war for colonization.

3. All states in the organization must be democratic in the sense of giving universal voting rights to all non-criminal adults and not interfering with elections or suspending their constitutions.

4. No member of the OHS would be permitted to commit, fund or otherwise aid or condone any act of terrorism.

5. No state in the organization would be permitted to commit or condone the crime of slavery.

6. A single violation of any of these rules, if proven beyond all reasonable doubt, would result in immediate expulsion from the organization for the guilty nation.

The above probably isn't realistic, but it is a good concept to work towards at any rate. I appreciate all replies. Thank you very much.
