Granted he also wrote White Christmas, Blue Skies, and There's No Business Like Show Business, this Jew wrote just about the most famous songs in American historical popular culture, not to mention others.

You just made a little slip, Printer2 - though Berlin did write 'God Bless America', and many other wonderful tunes, its not the National Anthem. It is a sort of anthem that is national, but its not the official one, if you know what I mean.

The National Anthem is of course 'The Star-Spangled Banner' which was written by Francis Scott Key (lyrics only), an Episcopalian (who are nice people too!).

But none can deny the genius of Irving Berlin....(oh, wait, here come some who will try...)

I went through the Antisemite's Guide to Internet Forum Posting and found the clause they will use to discredit this. It's called the Jesus Clause (which has a very Christmasy ring to it). It reads as follows:

Jesus was a Sephardic Jew, which means he actually had Semite blood in him. That means he was a real Jew, so I have no problems with that.

There were no Sephardic Jews in Jesus' time, they were all the same. Ashkenazi Jews, like Sephardic Jews both have semitic blood in them, they've just mixed in with different crowds over time. Moreover, who cares if he is a semite and what blood he has? AS if one's blood changes anything. Its the culture that counts, and he was part of the same Jewish culture as all jews.

I though "Semitic" refers to a language group. Did I miss something?
