As a very hard core conservative, I worked in a Wobblies-run retail operation, and living near Ann Arbor, I hear politics one whole helluva lot more radical than what you yourself say are your politics. I have a fresh, current gold standard for comparision, with the U of M on my doorstep. You are still a greenhorn, even in your own carefully-selected worldview. As a conservative I do not deny the possibility that extremist right wingers might some day seize and hold America. I fear an American Hitler just as much as any sane human being. We now have the technology which the Nazis lacked. We would be an UberHitler that the world would never recover from. But we also have a system of laws which do in fact outweigh mere men. And it is our simplistic, perhaps naive belief these laws matter which sets us apart from some communist banana republic. Communists under their laws gave us the steadily-declining Cuba, or the utterly decrepid East Germany. They wrecked economies in every one of their satelite states, and to my knowledge this extends even into the general sphere of business. I know it happened at that Wobblie store I worked at. The left cannot manage money. It is that simple, that profound, that endemic. They don't know how to seriously run any business, and their governmental policies crush commercial initiative and deny workforce expansion (much less the entrepreneurial spirit altogether). It is a foul and worthless philosophy. But I as a hard core Commie-hating Cold War Child still say, you are welcome in America to stand up and express your views. I for one will at least commend you for having the guts to announce who you are (at this time in your life), and what you believe in the moment you say it. I admired Gus Hall for that. Seriously. This is who I am. No lies, no back-door shots like the Nazis, Jew-bashers, and skinhead lunatic fringers whose garbage here would scare almost ANYONE off --- not just a misguided young man who at least did announce who he was, here. See, I'm not unsympathetic to you. The First Amendment gives us all that equal immutable right, shaping our personal attitudes as Americans. I believe it was Samuel Adams who wrote, "I have a right to complain." The problem here, kid, is this. Why run from where freedom of speech is sincerely practiced? Do you fear the shallowness of your cause might be exposed, or are you weary of paranoia, which was never deserved to begin with? It's the back-door Nazis and skinheads and racists and Jew-bashers who seriously corrode my America, kid. You commies had your turn at bat, and labor almost caught on, but it's decline-time for the Reds, kid, and I hope as you get older you'll see that. Only parts of the communist movement are worth keeping at all. Ask Christopher Hitchens for more on that subject. He's my favorite socialist writer, and even he says the Reds are doomed. You should have stuck around. Let your skin thicken, for that is what message boards do, they either mow you down or they raise you up. They either educate or misinform you. And without all views, you won't know if you're being lied to or not. Welcome to the communism of ideas, kid. This conservative likes that Internet feature a lot. |

We are wasting millions on permanent entrenched unelected government, and it is time this system is ended, forthwith. Dislodge the regulators and the petty bureaucrats. Give us lean government doing limited things we can not do ourselves. We must not succumb to huge payrolls and obscene benefits for those at the public trough. But we are. We must crush government unions, utterly crush them. These festering swamps of inefficiency are spending our nation's future, before that future ever gets here. George Walker Bush has a war going on. Deficits happen during wars. We are running that deficit after 9/11/2001. It is an honorable debt. |

Honorable debt.. yeah ok, neocon. Trillions of dollars to nationbuild Iraq because of W's bleedingheart policies. If dubya took the war seriously, he would have done something about the border. But instead he wants amnesty for all the illegals.
