Peace.

One of the main issues with minimum wage, if you make it and aren't a teenager or a retiree then you screwed up big time in life and not just once or twice.

Oh, I see: when the powers that be, allow all computer professionals and engineers from India to enter the country and those of you who look down upon those who live on minimum wage,( or near it), find yourselves applying for jobs putting smiley faces on Walmart shoppers- I wonder how smug you will be, then. Someone, has to perform those millions of service jobs. You look down on those who earn an honest living.
Physicians have the A.M.A. to prevent a glut of phisicians entering the country or being educated within. C.E.O.'s make sure their enormous compensations remain secure by appointing friendly boards of directors. Politicians raise their salary as needed. Even plumbers have an established protection rackett. But those who are on the bottom of the economic ladder are expected to compete with the desperate global millions. "Survival of the fittest"! then only, eh?
Meanwhile, the government is creating runaway inflation by borrowing massive amounts of money. In fact, they intentionally underestimate inflation so that they may reduce social security obligations. Again, those who are hurt, are on the bottom of the economic ladder.
Federal minimum wage laws provide a minimal guideline for the states. It should keep pace with inflation.
