Default Hezbollah- Humanitarian organization!

CNN had a big segment on Hezbollah the other night and it was surprising to learn that Hezbollah provides assistance much like the American Red Cross.
They had shelters, provided food and water and try to attend to the needs of displaced citizens. It was all very interesting to see and to understand that Hezbollah is something more than just a militant group. Frankly, I was impressed.

Israel, however, says Hezbollah must be totally destroyed. None of it, they say, must be allowed to exist. How can they live in that region and not know there is more to Hezbollah than just a war machine? If it is totally destroyed the people will have no one to help them.

Shame on Israel.

I suppose those humanitarian missiles they shoot into Israel are all part of that same cozy soup-kitchen mentality you describe, Muffin?

Well, seeing as how I had not given much thought to other parts of the world (until 9/11) I did not know that. Europe, yes, but not the mid east or the far east.

I was irritated that Clinton gave China "favorite nation" status. Never understood why. We seem to have a weird capacity for helping nations that hate us.

Lebanon was pro American. So, we give them a kick in the teeth. Evidently, the nincompoops we send to the White House don't like friendly nations.

We sided with Israel rather than being neutral.

I agree that we should remain neutral. However, it was still not our fault Lebanon got bombed.

How do you know?

The whole world has called for a cease fire instead of the United States. Even Hezbollah said they would stop if Israel stopped. Israel does not want to. US goes along with Israel. I guess the President wants as many innocent citizens killed as possible before he agrees to a cease fire - or maybe he is waiting for his directives from Israel.

Israel attacked Lebanon after its soldiers were kidnapped. We were not responsible for any of that. If you want to take sides, please do. But the U.S. did not attack Lebanon or tell Israel to (at least no evidence has come to light suggesting such). We always side with Israel. So there is nothing new there.

That is the problem - always siding with Israel. And we give them more money than any nation on earth. I am fed up with my tax dollars supporting other nations, especially a rogue nation like Israel.

They could use that money for our war veterans, families of soldiers at the front and America's poverty pockets like the Delta regions in the South and the Appalachians.
