The Bush administration, to date, has not prosecuted even one single case against contractors accused of defrauding the US government in Iraq.

However, they have pressed charges against subcontractors accused of defrauding Halliburton.

The cases that have actually come to trial were pressed by "outsiders" who were peripherally involved in these contracts and sub-contracts, people like whistleblowers, sub-subcontractors who were never paid, and etc etc.

Alan Grayson testified in front of the Senate on Monday, in case anyone saw that - if not, it's being rebroadcast on C-SPAN this weekend.

Economic depression cannot be cured by legislative action or executive pronouncement. Economic wounds must be healed by the action of the cells of the economic body - the producers and consumers themselves.

It is a paradox that every dictator has climbed to power on the ladder of free speech. Immediately on attaining power each dictator has suppressed all free speech except his own.

It is the youth who must inherit the tribulation, the sorrow... that are the aftermath of war.

Many years ago, I concluded that a few hair shirts were part of the mental wardrobe of every man. The president differs from other men in that he has a more extensive wardrobe.

Once upon a time my political opponents honored me as possessing the fabulous intellectual and economic power by which I created a worldwide depression all by myself.

Funny you would put Lincoln out there as he was one of the biggest corporate welfare / mercantilists of his time.

Bushie is no Lincoln?

Well the Democrats are still racist vote pimps, like the were in the 1850's. Except the Democrats flip flopped from being anti-black racists to anti-white racists, thats the only change.
