Default my 2 cents

To say that Jesus wasn't a pascifist is ridiculous. He did tell his followers to buy swords, but he also told his followers to stand down and not fight. He said to give your enemy your cloak if he asks for it and if he slaps you to turn the other cheek. sigh the bible is so convoluted. They said to follow the government by paying taxes, but jesus said not to bring your enemy to court. Jesus said his power is not of an earthly nature, and satan stood Jesus on a tall mountain and told Jesus that he can give him all the power of the earth for he (satan) controls the kingdoms of the earth. Jesus also refused to acknowledge the worth of money (which is perhaps why he told his followers to pay taxes if it meant the preservation of their own lives) Jesus said that his disciples shouldnt follow a governmental system which is as the Romans, but instead one in which all are equal and noone is greater than the other. So to me Jesus can only be seen not as a liberal/conservative but as a pascifistic communist. In acts in the bible that is just what happened with the disciples, they become utopian communists who freely and equally distribute their goods to one another. If you want all the exact biblical quotes I can get them but I dont have time right now. I have read the entire bible more than once, including bible studies studying individual portions. Also my fiance's father is a presbyterian minister who regularly talks to me about biblical history...Also to say the thing about Jesus knowing the bible is erroneous because the "bible" is a collection of books decided long ago by the church. There are many other books that could have been added to the bible. The ones chosen were most likely the ones which supported the structure which the church had chosen to align itself. Also, there are many apocryphal texts which werent chosen including several hidden books such as the nag hamadi texts. The problem with these texts is that they are incredibly harmful to the church. Thus even though the books seem just as legit as the gospels they are denied. [/i]

Jesus believed in the old testament and it's teachings, him being the fulfillment of the prophacies.Nowhere in the bible is pacifism endorsed.

1)The texts you speak of (Nag Hamadi library writings of Thomas and whatever else) are unknown to me.

2)Jesus,being the son of god, certainly believed in the old testament. Stand down and not fight is a curious sermon given by a man who physically chased the money lenders from the church. I don't know where you are referring to but if you think that after he went to heaven he wanted the Apostles to put their neck on anybody's chopping block your wrong.

3)(Luke22:35) When i sent you out without purse, shoes, scrip, did you lack anything,Jesus asked. No was the answer. He told them after he left to sell their garments and buy a sword if they did not have one. Doesn't sound like he is advocating martyrdom to me.

4)Turn the other cheek if someone slaps you ,which was the custom of the day, in no way means that if your life is threatened you cannot defend yourself. Your assumption is ludicrous. This is not convoluted thinking at all.

5)I'm not getting your point here. Satan was tempting Jesus to curse God and gain all the riches on earth. His reply was to "get thee behind me Satan". Very clear. He was not to be tempted. This does not make him a pacifist.

6) Not a commie by any means: (paraphrasing) Don't be ashamed that you have more than others, there will always be poor people, you can't save everybody. They never went about sharing everything they had with everybody. Generous, absolutely. Commies, hell no.

If you believe Jesus was God then he knew what books to read. He believes the same bible as the Jews and it's 4000 year content.

(Luke7:1-10) Jesus heals a centurion military leaders servant. Jesus did not rebuke the soldier for his military involvement, instead Jesus commended him for his great faith. A faith so strong and pure that it put all of Israel to shame.

Jesus never preached pacifism to anybody, actually the apostles told the converted to stay in their chosen professions.(provided they weren't sinful professions)

Default Pious Frauds

Reverend Pat Robertson recently advocated the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, intimating that such action would be a good thing. This is strange speech from one who would preach the Ten Commandments. Is not the Bible (according to Rev. Robertson) the literal word of God? Did God not mean what He commanded: “Thou shalt not kill”? Exodus 20:13 Authorized Version of King James.

The televangelists - the Pat Robertson’s and Jerry Falwell’s of this world - don’t practice what they preach, and their so-called ministries make a mockery of religion. They are “ranters” (pious frauds), like the character Talkative in John Bunyon’s The Pilgrim’s Progress.

College scum in dire need of police dogs and water cannons are used by the scummunist left to appear as if AMERICA speaks through them. They are not intelligent to even know who led them by their noses in that last election---George Soros, who's not American and (like them) never will be.
This is a perfect example of how hatred rules the conservative mindstate. Who wants to be an "american" if being an american means being like you??
Wow, don't go into hydraulic snivel just on my account. Please explain what was ethical in accepting millions in dollars from a foreign influence-peddler like Soros. Whatever happened to Dems keeping this a DOMESTIC election?

Go ahead and try answering that one, and then try to justify leftists saying they are patriots when their actions clearly lay lie to that fraud.

Steinem came out of Toledo and had a huge effect on Michigan feminists as well. She and Friedan and so many others only including Brownmiller all lent credibility for society to change, and it has.

Not to negate or abandon those changes is one thing, but present-era feminists sound mired in the past, and in the end sound a lot like the Southern Poverty Law Center. They watch for offenses among known suspects. They are policewomen now---not agents for change.

As I understand it, the President of the United States does in fact reserve the right to order assassination of another head of state. Presidential Executive Orders have prevented implementation (to our knowledge), but if Uncle Sammy aced that scroat Yasser Arafat, then good on Uncle Sugar. Send in the 101st Airborne and a few thousand Marines, and take out the present government of Mexico while we're at it.

There are better ways than killing him to contain Chavez. Robertson was frothing for nothing. If he says cap that North Korean fool, then maybe I'll wander in and listen to Patty's reasons.

If that were true Democrats would still believe in dueling---and serving their country.
