Yeah, that gave Bush a little under two years to revamp the intelligence system that Clinton let founder for 8 previously.

If you point to that as your victory, then who do you really cheer for?

Then explain why there never was adequate air protection for our capital...or New York...or why there were insignificant numbers of person who spoke farsi or arabic in our intelligence systems...or why the knowledge of that part of the world was very very limited in our intelligence agencies...or why Clinton didn't acheive his stated goal of limiting our reliance on mid east oil way back when so that this wasnt such a problem or perhaps why the immigration services had allowed these people in the country way back when...

I don't think that the attack could have been avoided whoever was President.

Such a method of attack was unprecedented and unforeseeable and inconceivable from a western perspective.

To blame Bush (or Clinton for that matter) is monumentally unfair.

And without sounding alarmist there is going to be further attacks somewhere around the world at sometime, that is just a sorry fact.

We all need to look for solutions not scapegoats.

HEhe, I'm just playing with you guys. Of course, I concur. I don't think there was anything that either President could have done to predict the attacks. Just remember, the enemy is Bin Laden, not Bush or Clinton.... no matter how partisan you are. I blame a lot on Clinton, but I will never blame the 9-11 attacks on him. That would be totally unfair.

A neo-con using common sense? Maybe there is hope. You actually know that our enemy is Bin Laden. Bush thought it was Sadam!
