[quote]Ronald Reagan - for beginning the wildly unsuccessful "war on drugs", and his admin's many "secret wars" [/]
Nixon started the war on drugs. Sam Adams was never president. John Adams was the 2nd president, a very good one too. However, you forget so much about TR Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902 trust Busting Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 Meat Inspection Act of 1906 Hepburn Act of 1906 (Railroad Regulation) Conservation + United States Forest Service + many resevres and parks Newlands Reclamation Act of 1902 Booker T. Washington as the first black to have dinner in the White House and spoke out against racism constantl and opposed school segregation, having gotten rid of it in NY appointed the first Jew, Oscar S. Straus, to the Presidential Cabinet. Open Door Policy in China Brilliant peace betwene Japan and Russia Brilliantly maneuvered peace and stability between Russia and USA Responsibility for obtaing the Panama Canal Responsible for the eventual cretaion of the Federal Reserve the Great White Fleet He was titan among men My personal favorites are Washington Adams Truman |

They were all bad. My favorite was that guy who was in office for like a month, then died. That's what all presidents should do.

The best:
Roosevelt - Programs to care for those in need Lincoln - Understood the word "freedom" Clinton - Cared about Americans - culturally competent and like President Carter - continued the effort to maintain the PEACE The worst: Johnson - escallating a "no" win situation in Vietnam and creating an atmosphere that eventually caused excessive hardship to American soldiers (army, airforce, marines, navy, etc) Reagan - Interest rates were over 21% - S&L failures and covering up for those in his cabinet who had involvement in the S&L failures Current President Bush - failure to perform - allowing the escalation of a war in the Middle East - not LISTENING - creating FEAR versus finding a road to PEACE - and above all allowing for "radical" religion to play a part in the current Administration |
