Idiotic. Sorry JP. That's about the stupidest most idiotic "plank" of the social-conservative platform, that I keep hearing over and over again, and every time I do, it turns my stomach.

You're reminding of the Doonesbury thing where Trudeau was pointing out the utter stupidity of these kinds of arguments - where some Faux news-caster was trying to say, "yeah, well we should hear the folks that still argue that the earth is square, in the interesting of being FAIR AND BALANCED".

Gimme a gigantic f'ing break.

Look, you're a smart person - surely you can't keep putting all your cookies in a bankrupt basket with all kinds of holes in it - where they're falling out even as you're walking from one part of the street to another.

THis is utter stupidity - and for what? I don't understand loyalty to a FAILED CAUSE.

It's FAILED - it's OVER. The best we can do now, is pick up whatever pieces we can still grab, and go home.

WISE UP, JP. Argh.....

Well, all I can do is post ideas into the cloud. I have no more "power" than that, except via communications and so on.

And once in a while, I even have the luxury of a few minutes to "post into the cloud", as I say - it ain't like it used to be, when I was sick and had nothing better to do than hang around the house all day.

My son swallowed an ear-ring a couple of days ago. I had to race up to Frisco doing about 90 mph the whole way, and it's a darn lucky thing I got there in time, and some cop didn't decide to chase me along the way ('cause I wouldn't have stopped till I got right to the front door of the hospital).

You see what I'm saying, right? There are battles worth fighting, and then there are lost causes, and it sure helps to have the discernment to tell the difference.

Dig? Yes?

When my son was little, I used to say, "CAN'T never could do anything." Meaning----if you go around thinking you CANNOT do something; then you won't. The only thing lacking here is the will of a certain segment of Americans.....like YOU and the other Democrats who want to just give up and throw in the towel. Problem is------we'd just be back again later and things would be 100 times worse.

Default How many Chances?

I think this line of thought is problematic.

Have our expectations really become so low that all we can think is "gee maybe it'll work this time; I guess we don't have any choice but just to listen to the man".

After all that this Administration has done, they don't deserve another chance. They shouldn't have time after 4 years to come around and admit they've made some mistakes. They've squandered support for America around the world, and have shown themselves incapable of dealing with any significant situations at home i.e. 9/11 and Katrina.

How many chances are we going to give them before we realize they are not just incompetent, they are dangerous.

All Nixon had to do was know about a break-in to a Hotel. In this situation, tens of thousands of people are dead.

Wake up!

Default The Surge-on is Mad.

Surgeon Bush has a plan, will it work?

Dr. Bush has been butchering this country, iraq, for almost four years now, and the scars are everywhere.

Says Dr. Bush, with his scalpel in hand "Sam, Pass me the surge and 3 brigades of Kurds, we're going into the heart of Sadr City. IT MAY WORK."

"What if it just makes him bleed more?"

"Don't you understand? We've got to keep poking him till he bleeds LESS."

Surgeon Bush wants to try this one more stab at it. Frankly, I don't think he has a clue what he's doing. Do you?

While it's true that a certain amount of optimism is needed to strive for progress, it's also true that people can be delusional and make terrible decisions along the way. In this case, CAN can't do anything, because Bush's plan is a complete and total failure. There was no margin for error from their standpoint. You either have a stable, democratic Iraq, or you do not.

Now he wants more troops? Absolutely insane. What will more troops do? NOTHING - against a guerilla force. The reason guerillas are so effective is because THEY CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED. Since the number of Iraqis who don't want us there continues to climb - the insurgents will have MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO HIDE and MORE SUPPORT AMONG THE CITIZENS, not less. That makes your Emperor's plan a failure before it's even started.

Can't never could do nothing - but a fool never could do nothing right. What good is taking initiative on a math test, if you believe 2 + 2 = 5?

You are a disingenuous liar. Now you're blaming the people who disagree with you for your own failure. How sad and pathetic. I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU 2+2=4. You will not listen. Do not blame me for your own failure.

Pure speculation with no basis in reality. Things are worse because the violence has increased under U.S. occupation. Things are worse because over 20,000 professionals have fled the country. The best and the brightest are leaving because your Master Bush has left them with nothing but a war zone.
