Default The Declaration of Independence

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

There are some very important phrases in what is said above.

President Bush needs a refresher course on the Declaration of Indenpendence and the Meaning behind it. It appears that The Want, Will and Hopes of the American people are the last thing in his mind. He seems way more concerned about the Want, Will and Hopes of everybody else but the citizens of his own country. His stubborn, reckless leadership has put our nation in a right in the middle of a sectarian war, a war fraught with terror, but having absolutely nothing to do the The War On Terror. If our President had any concern for the actual Wants, Will and Hopes of the American people he would stop his reckless leadership and listen to what the American people and it's leaders are telling him.
President Bush is not in the position of being a servant of his party or the servant of the Iraqi people. He is a servant of the American people and that is something that is apparently he has forgotten. There will be a time in the near future that America and It's leaders will grow weary of President Bush's flippant attitude toward The Will Of the American People and react accordingly. Being the self proclaimed "DECESION MAKER" It sure would be nice if he coud manage to do his job and act on behalf of WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

President Bush is subverting the WILL OF THE PEOPLE at this very moment.

So are you saying that It's OK for Bush to Declare himself "THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE" dispite what America is telling make that YELLING at him? Is he not at this point going against the will of the people and placeing American troops in a sectarian war and watching them die daily for that cause?

Bush is wrong, but Democrats aren't correctly interpreting the Declaration of Independence either.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident,"

TRANSLATION: The following things are true regardless if people believe otherwise, as these truths are embedded in the spiritual structure of the universe.

"that all men are created equal,"

TRANSLATION: all human beings are created with equal rights, but they are not created with equal talents or abilities.

"that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,"

TRANSLATION: God, short for the creational force of the universe, has created life with inherent rights that are un-a-lien-able, meaning not subject to government lien, or government (or majority rule) authority.

"that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

TRANSLATION: We all have more rights than just life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, such as keeping the fruit of our labor, but these are some of the primary rights. We have a right to live, to live in liberty/freedom, and to pursue happiness, but we are not guaranteed happiness by anyone or any organization(government), or by God or the universe. We are not entitled to happiness.

" — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,"

TRANSLATION: Governments exist ONLY to secure/protect these inherent, unalienable rights. Knowing that government is the exercise of power by some over others, the use of this power can only be just if the governed consent to it. Regardless, the exercise of power can NEVER infringe any un-a-lien-able rights - it can only secure/protect those rights.

"— That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

TRANSLATION: When any government denies people these un-a-lien-able rights, the people have a right to alter it, or if altering it is not possible, to abolish it all together and to start a new government that will protect these rights and thereby offer people the greatest opportunity for liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

In the quote, I've amplified a few of them, just for emphasis.

Thank you, GD. I hear "exactly" what you're trying to say, and where you're coming from.

And, I agree with a large part of it. GWB is the pits, the absolute pits. But, we're stuck with him for another two years, and trying to remove him wouldn't be exactly the right solution (that, would probably create more problems that it solves). So, just bear it out - "WE" elected this guy, and "WE" have to deal with him now, but it won't be very long till we get to make another choice.

That's one of the great things about the American political process - constant choices.

Sometimes I wish that Presidential elections were held every two years instead of every four, but sometimes, you get a guy like this doofus GWB, who seems to take six years to figure out how his government works - and then, in cases like that, it seems that two years might not be enough.

The Founding Fathers, were pretty wise - all things considered.

Yes the mods on this forum and the rest of their Con crew avoid threads like this like it's the plague or something. In their desperation they are starting to accused me of starting threads that nobody but myself responds to although none have offered up any proof of such a thing.
If I start a thread that hits on a touchy subject there is a least one mod here that has moved my threads more that once. All the while leaving their opinion oriented threads right in the current news section as if they're true relevant news or something. It's BS but being mods they can attempt to control the true only so much. Their lies and desperation is glaring.
This thread is certainly relevant to the way our President is treating Americans today and it is relevant to how America should respond to Bush turning his back on his country.

At this point in his Presidency, being in the position that he is in and the position that he has put America in. Is his job to be a servant to his party? Or is his job to be a servant to the Will of the Iraqi people? Or is his job to servant to the Will of the American people?

Careful, GD. You don't want to (*)(*)(*)(*) off the mods here (unless, that is, you want them to take you off-line, which, as you say, I've seen happening more than once).

Look - all this anti-GWB thing is fair game - it's honest, and it's the truth.

Just a friendly word of advice - don't cross the boundaries.

'Cause if I really wanted to, I could take down the PF server in about 30 seconds, trust me.

But, all things considered, this place does a pretty significant public service, and I've been pretty pissed off too, from time to time (even to the point of composing some verbiage in that regard ) -

But all things considered, this is a PUBLIC forum, and the mods are what they are, and I have no real interest in challenging them.

I even have considerable respect for a few of them ("which* ones of those, I'll leave it up to your best guess)....

Just respect the boundaries, is all I might suggest. That's probably a good idea.

Believe me, they (*)(*)(*)(*) me off sometimes too, and I find it incredibly frustrating trying to get things done sometimes, but it is what it is. There's probably nothing you or I can do, to change it, without enormous time and effort -

And as long as we're going to exert time and effort like that - it's probably a good idea to vector into the right place. Right?
