Default Rick Perrys Boots on the ground or Ron Pauls end the drug war?

Which is a better, less costly solution to the mexican border gang problem, considering gangs are funded by drug money they get from idiots? IT AMAZES ME how these hypocrites talk about less regulation, less government and at the same time talk about boots on the ground: no mexican drug dealer is shoving drugs down our childrens throats, we just need to have them readily available to any scumbag so that the mexican drug dealers could not profit and fund their gangs using this money: when they will be able to buy it cheap or make it safely themselves, they will kill themselves but without funding the mexican gangs. of course take away their children from drug addicts, but this will not create any more addicts then we have now. how will it?

Edit: Rick perry likes to "cut spending"

    Why can't we do both?
    There is no Allah.
Mohammed, like Joseph Smith, invented a religion so they could legitimize their sexual appetites.

It's not one way or the other, it's going to take a combination of both.

We don't want to go as far as the Berlin wall, and we don't want to go with full out legalization of drugs.

The two aspects need tweaked slightly.

    You are very mistaken, peoplevsmedia.

You have not thought this problem out clearly.

We need boots on the ground to interdict the Mexican "mules" that the Mexican drug dealers use to transport their illegal drugs into the United States.

These drugs from Mexico drive up our health care costs and cause misery and sorrow for many parents who have children who are addicted to these drugs. Then you have the crimes these people commit to acquire the money to purchase these drugs. “Boots on the ground” along the Texas border would actually save us a tremendous amount of money when you factor in all of these added costs to the U.S. taxpayers.

It is as simple as that.

Exactly! Bring our troops home from all over the world, announce an end to American imperialism, and redeploy those troops along the border to protect us from an unstifled invasion of illegal immigrants and drugs from Mexico and South America. It's about time that the Department of Defense was about the business of defense. Why are we fighting wars overseas and not an invasion here at home?
    Merry Christmas!

    But he will try.

That is 100% more than Barack Obama is doing to solve our problems along the border!

Yeah. That'll stop the use of drugs this time! Another few billions and lots of innocent lives lost and civil liberties destroyed in order to protect us from ourselves.

Totalitarians will have won their "war on drugs" when the boots are on our necks.

I disagree James legalize the drugs and one eliminates the profit a gram of pure cocaine is produced at less than $1 a gram, a gram of less than %50 pure cocaine goes for $50-$100 a gram on the street. Marijuana grows like a weed,... pun intended legalize it, put a %100 tax on it, and use the revenue to fund rehab programs for those that want to quit. Drug related crime (as far as to fund the addiction) will go down as that junkie with the $500 a day need drops to $5-$10 a day. Healthcare costs for illegal drug use are minor compared to alcohol and legal prescription drugs, the most abused drugs in the nation are (government paid for (yep you paid for it)) hydrocodone, xanax, oxycontin, dilaudid, and methadone. Makes me long for the days of the Morphine and codeine they warned me about when I was a kid.
