Default Is G.W. losing it???

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated "I am the president!" He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of "our country's destiny." http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...1.4370227.html

Is that for real?
It's not real shocking. I've always taken Mr. Bush to be a real idealist... a guy who means well but isn't always open to reality.
I'd imagine seeing his ideals not working as he planned is probably painful.

I really hope Mr. Bush, like Jimmy Carter, gets to redeem himself after this presidency by doing good works. Wide-eyed idealists are far better at charity than they are at bureaucratic responsibility.

it's completely unsourced and uncorroborated. I blogged about it and two other examples.

Plausible? Perhaps. Fact? No.

I think he lost it a few years ago when he started taking advice from Jesus.

Here's another interesting quote in the article
Quote:
and the American military's advice to its troops is, "Get down with the people – listen to them!" Only four years and thousands of bombs and night missions too late.

It looks like the original story comes from the Dallas News. So either the columnist is lying or the source is lying or the story is true. Relying on GW's past behavior as an indicator; I say it's true.

Even if you don't believe the chest thumping incident happened, surely this has run across most people's minds -------> He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of "our country's destiny.

Of course it's plausible. But the best rumors are the ones that are plausible. It makes them easy to believe.

So? We all do stupid things(he does more than the average), this is just another example of how media is too up-tight and sneaky.

If you don't mind a child running the country, I guess it's ok. There's more to this than chest thumping though. Setting up his successor so that person "can't get out of Iraq" is a dangerous game he's playing with our country.

But it's absolutely not true. First of all, how exactly does he do that? Sounds to me like the person writing the editorial is trying to set up a built-in EXCUSE for a possible Democrat president who would most likely continue in Iraq. They want to be able to continue in Iraq, but blame George W. Bush. Even after he's gone.
