Experimental Political Model Part 5 of 8: Government Agency
If you haven't read Part 1, please do.
This is a measure of how much you value the government's ability to pass laws and take action.
Obstructionism vs. Activism
Obstructionism: heavy checks and balances to slow action and force more negotiation, constitution difficult to ammend, heavy interest group involvement, focus on prevention of bad laws through negotiating barriers
Activism: streamlined processes to lead to quick action, constitutions easy to ammend, majority rule, limitations on interest group involvement, focus on holding leaders accountable for laws
Choose one of the above.
If in between, choose a "soft" version.
If you need a tie-breaker, consider the following:
Which will have the most terrible consequences: constant gridlock or an empowered majority?
"Conservatives say if you don't give the rich more money, they will lose their incentive to invest. As for the poor, they tell us they've lost all incentive because we've given them too much money."
-George Carlin
