Oil industry like Tobacco industry pretrends everything is fine.

For you to compare the two industries is ridiculous. Tobacco is an unnecessary, harmful substance used for physical gratification of those who either enjoy the stuff, or are addicted to it. Energy, on the other hand, is an absolute necessity for the human race, and oil is still a major energy source and will probably remain so for a long time to come. For Mr. Raymond to reply with a highly researched 476-page letter on the subject is not what I would call pretending everything is fine.

Oil is an unrenewable resource.

Nowhere did I see them say it's not. They said the world's resources of coal, oil and natural gas remain abundant, which is true, but they didn't say it would remain so forever.

US is most reliant on this crude oil.

So what? Developing countries around the world are becoming increasingly more reliant on all energy sources.

Iraq war caused by US desire to control oil. Next global war likely to spark from oil arguments.

Both debatable.

US needs to put lid on oil industry like it did tobacco, before the industry kills us all. industry always in bed with gov. people screwed, given lip service.

Just your opinion. Sounds like typical anticapitalist, left-wing rhetoric to me. Also sounds like you need to read the article you posted the link to. They gave very explicit recommendations to the energy providers, and all the world's governments about increasing energy efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions.
