Islamic Mufti: women "desire" to be beaten (controlled)

Women in some societies desire to be controlled (beating is a part of that, he states.) I'd suggest that Muslims check out Secular Humanism, or Buddhism, as I don't think they have wife-beating provisions in those religions! In the (IIRC) Shakir translation of Qu'ran 4:34, Mohammad states that you can beat your wife, and that men excell women, so you might think twice about marrying a Muslim man who won't convert out of Islam. Your thoughts on how best to end this medieval barbarism, w/in the next 5 years? hmmm
Sounds strange but there is many christian women who get it also and allow it to happen to them because they like the sympathy they get from being a mistreated wife.
"Black eyes all the time, he won't spend a dime, he lies right at you and you know that you just hate that game but you get out there and plead "please watch me suffer". And after they get through telling everyone in town what a sorry piece of bleep the guy is and get all the sympathy they want then they go right back to that sorry piece of bleep and go through it all again.

(I Cor. 14:34-35) •"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner." (I Timothy. 2:11-14) •"The head of every man is Christ, and the head of every woman is man." (New Testament: I Corinthians 11:7-9. 11:3) •"Man is the image of God ... whereas woman reflects the glory of man. For man did not originally spring from woman, but woman was made out of man; and man was not created for woman's sake, but woman for the sake of man. biiig difference
The difference is that Christians live in free, western countries where the Bible has come to be interpreted figuratively and men are put in jail for beating or stoning their wives.
Not really the same story in Saudi Arabia...

Also, can you please remove Qur'an 4:11 which dictates to give women only ONE-HALF the inheritance of a man (again, it's incredibly WRONG!)? To a sane person this should be a no-brainer. Comments?
