Under a socialized program this is the type of nightmare service people should come to expect.

This is the kind of propaganda the Michael Moore uses.

He shows a completely sections where some guy had a wood working accident where he lost multiple fingers. He didn't have health insurance so he could only afford to get a couple of the fingers put on. Every system as big as Canada's health insurance program is going to have nightmare stories just like our private health care system has nightmare stories.

Long waits are standard feature of Canada's system. How would you like to have the MRI wait of months and months if your doctor suspected you had cancer? Most of the "horror stories" I read about our system lately have to do with illegal aliens, for example Los Angeles' public health system being overwhelmed and bankrupted by illegal aliens.

You are right Komrad! We must give the working class health care for free, there is no other way to enforce equality!(end sarcasm)

Moore's example is anecdotal, it is one person among millions. Whereas this article deals with a lot more than one and speaks to trends.

Yeah, I'm sure there aren't any example in the U.S. private health care industry where as many as 40 people have been screwed over. So 40 people among millions shows a trend but 1 does not. What about 5 people, or 10 people?

The article basically claims that it is some horrible thing to have people sent to the U.S. for treatment payed for by Canada's health program. Why exactly is that a bad thing? People get sent to the Mayo clinic all the time for specialists when local services are inadequate in the U.S. Why shouldn't Canada take advantage of the fact that they border the country with the best medical facilities in the world?

So the big complaint is that they get their kids taken care of courtesy of the Government, but they have to do it in the Best country in the whole world?

If they were shipping them off to Ethopia I would be offended, but

"We are going to pay for this very expensive birth and child care, but you have to receive the best medical care in the world in the best country in the world"

Man where is the worlds smallest violin when you need one.

Ixtellor

P.S. An African baby just died. I wonder how her mother would feel about that evil universal healthcare.

Default Have I always been clairvoyant?

Many of these women are in danger of premature delivery. They have to stay away from their families for months. It's not because of quality, it's because of volume. Someone who gets free medical acre has no right to complain in some people's opinion, in spite of the fact that IT'S NOT FREE.

How would you feel about a woman who had to carry a dead baby for an extra week while she waited for a bed? Oh well, baby dead already, no hurry, right?
