Thread: 2013 is going to be much worse than 2012 for America - Jim Rogers

'Jim Rogers : You know 2013 if we last, if we make it to 2013, 2013 is going to be worse. There´s an election in America in 2012. The government is going to extend as much money as it can to win the election, and the people who get that money are going to be better off because there´s a government throws billions of dollars out into the economy. Somebody´s got to get that money. But those people and their friends are going to be better off. But the overall situation continues to get worse because the debt goes higher and higher and higher, and the rest of us ultimately are going to be worse off. And certainly by 2013 when all of that extra spending for the election stops, 2013 is definitely going to be a very bad year in the U.S. and in the world. - in El Economista'

If people would just learn that the national debt is nothing like their own debt this country would be much better off. The only way we will be worse off in 2013 than 2012 is if the Govt stops spending money.

Are you saying that the American national debt can keep rising indefinitely and there will be no noticeable, negative affect to her?

I'm hoping this whole 2012 end of times stuff is true. Otherwise the super wealthy win again.
EVERYBODY call in sick tomorrow, then watch real change begin. Hit the corporate fat cats directly in the pocketbook.

The economists I follow predict that the riots start in 2013 - when the average Joe discovers that no matter who he voted for in 2012, he is still permanently screwed.

The very rich admire the Russian mafia - they stole the best bits of the old Soviet empire for themselves. That's what all the "Social security is broken" stuff is about "privatising it", and why the USPS is under attack; Fedex and UPS would like to buy it.

"They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness" (Ps. lxxxii. 5). Truth, in spite of all its powerful manifestations, is completely withheld from them, and the following words of Scripture may be applied to them, "And now men see not the light which is bright in the skies" (Job xxxvii. 21). They are the multitude of ordinary men: there is no need to notice them in this treatise.

    :- Maimonides.

That it's not like personal debt doesn't mean that significant government debt spending doesn't make us worse off.

"The principle that the end justifies the means is, in individualist ethics, regarded as the denial of all morals. In collectivist ethics it becomes necessarily the supreme rule" -- F. A. Hayek.
"A day, an hour, of virtuous liberty is worth a whole eternity in bondage" -- Joseph Addison's "Cato, A Tragedy" (1713)

How about if the tax payer gets to spend the money instead?

Who is more efficient and spends it better... those who earn it or those who seize it?

The impact is much greater if the money does not get "filtered" through an authoritarian centralized government. It is much more effective if spent on a local level.
INEPTOCRACY - A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least like to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with the goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
