Just for conversation's sake; when are A.A. programs no longer needed? At what point can we say that minorities have been given equal opportunity to succeed.
I agree that there is a place for AA programs. I'm just wondering that since were looking at well over 50 years since Brown V. Board of Ed. where do you draw the line? When do you know that minorities have reached "equality"? AA programs should not go on indefinitely. |

Sbb, if we had a true affirmative placement program by percentage of population, would that make you happy? It would limit the number of blacks that i see on television to 13%, basketball teams to 13%, football teams 13%, etc.. This sounds like a good idea to me how about you? |

The indifference of the USSC notwithstanding, it is a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th amendment, as well as the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It pulls blacks into situations where they can't compete because they haven't gotten there through merit. Summarizing: "Affirmative action" is unconstitutional illegal counterproductive creates racial tensions unjust irrational reduces US competitiveness How can any policy have more against it?

Lets try this one on for size how about everyone be given the same opportunities to succeed. There would be no need for any type of AA programs if we could get rid of the people with the mindsets like you and Blade, but as long as people like you are around there has to be programs in place to counter act your madness. Peace.
