Default the era of cowboy diplomacy is over....

You know, I got to thinking about this one the other day -

"The era of cowboy diplomacy is over" -

That was, like, Hillary's biggest cheer, in that debate, right?

But, what does that mean exactly?

First of all, she's not telling you anything, right? I mean, she's not telling you what she's going to "replace it with".....

And then secondly, what does she mean by "cowboy diplomacy"? What is that exactly? A reference to people from Texas? Or what's going on here, exactly?

What do you think?

You're being disingenuous - you surely must know that that refers to a US military engagement with the world's dictators. The term was invented by euroweenies, whose concern about doing anything militarily about dictators effectively ended in 1945, or in the case of the drunken emerald isle, 1918.
Instead, euros think they have a more sophisticated approach than the brutish americans - negotiation. But we've seen how well that's worked with Iran, and before that saddam hussein.

Default Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaw.

Yeah! Now the killing can start! Stupid negotiations -- nobody ever dies from those! We want corpses piled up above our heads and as many dead children as we can possibly manage! Hey, let's set off some nukes and irradiate everybody while we're at it! Now that's RESULTS!

Yeehaw, y'all.

Anyway. I always thought "cowboy diplomacy" meant "no diplomacy." All stick, no carrot. That kind of thing. You will do what we say because we are bigger and we can kill you more thoroughly than you can kill us.

cowboy diplomacy - brought to you by a bunch of fatasses whose idea of hunting is shooting at farm raised quarry on baited preserves

if they really wanted to defeat evil, they would work for justice but have done the exact opposite. it is not what neocons say, it is what they do that inflicts the harm

Yeah - leaving Saddam to murder, rape, kill, torture, and invade would be "justice". The looney tune inside out Orwellian world of the appeaser: up is down, black is white, and sh__ is ice cream.

yep jake, your observations are so credible, given how we have secured the safety and well-being of the starving populations in darfur and north korea. too bad they do not substantial oil reserves or we could have fabricated a rationale to "help" them too

I feel like a "holier than thou" jerk when I say this but can anybody here make an arguement without some grossly oversimplified remark like "Yeeeehaw, war is fun!" (a near direct reference to Bush's handling of the ME.)? And don't site when I said war is much more fun, because that was pure sarcasm aimed at nobody. What you just said was implying that Bush supports war for the sake of violence.

Just to let you know, I just got out of a video gaming forum (so you can only imagine the extent of idiotic flaming that I've whitnessed) and to see people doing stuff of equal stupidity on a political forum... I dam near started crying.

Just so's you know (merely keeping you honest) You're citing circumstantial evidence there. Of course you wouldn't get so rapped up in winning a debate that you'd neglect that little detail?
