Default The Liberals' View of our Government's role for the economy....

Ronald Reagan said it best in describing the government's view of our economy.

    If it moves, tax it........

If it keeps moving, regulate it.........

And if it stops moving, subsidize it...........

Don't those three short statements about sum up the liberal ideology concerning our government and our economy? LOL!

    Sure does.
The layers of re-taxation of goods and services at multiple levels, are real and mostly hidden.

In the real world of which you obviously haven't spent much time in, making and investing money (capital) is the whole idea behind creating a thriving economy. How does the liberal support of higher taxes, more regulation, more govt spending, disregarding our national debt by adding to it and increasing our welfare roles compute to growing our economy?

Hence, the GOP's next Presidential candidate for POTUS...PinkSlip. See, conservatives don't even see a problem with that. The cumulative effect of decency and humanity is outweighed by stacks of corporate green. That's REALLY how they see it. Any real wonder why we're all screwed at this point? I think not.
EVERYBODY call in sick tomorrow, then watch real change begin. Hit the corporate fat cats directly in the pocketbook.

Is that why the eighties gave us the most prosperous economy in decades, and why he stopped the further threat of Communism by ending the cold war? Not to mention that everyone was feeling good about themselves and their lot in life. Massive job creation under Reagan as well.

The eighties also gave us the first taste of the republican free market deregulation mantra. The deregulation of the Savings and Loan banks led to the prompt collapse of hundreds of S&L banks, multi-Billion government bank bailouts and a million abandoned properties, mostly in the south and south west. In these areas the 80s are not remembered fondly.

Instead of learning from that the free market freaks chose to double down and deregulate the rest of the banks in the 1990s. We see how well that worked out.

The massive deficit spending during the Reagan years had a lot to do with the economy taking off. The much vaunted Reagan tax cuts are a case of selective memory because two years later taxes were increased by the largest amount ever but the deficit spending did not let up.

Huge amounts of deficit spending was thrown into infrastructure and defence spending and baling out the S&L banks. That was how the good times rolled.

No wonder the 80s were so great!! Reagan took Keynesian economics to the EXTREME!!

Tripling the national debt?? Imagine if Obama was allowed to do that!
