This is called 'second guessing'. It would be far more interesting if you gave the odds and offered some sort of prize if you were wrong.

I'm not sure of the depth of the bad feelings of Catholics toward the bishops. It could be that Catholics haven't paid attention to the bishops in decades anyway, and the backlash won't be that big. When I know more, I'll offer odds and a prize.

All I know now is that anyone giving a microphone to a bishop, and then paying attention to what he says, is either a fool or a Republican politician.

There is always a small percentage of any group that doesn't want to follow the leaders. In this case "they" can't do the leading, they have to follow the Bishops and The Pope.

Catholics have not been following the bishops for a long, long time. That doesn't keep the bishops from pretending they are leading somebody.

Small percentage? Like 90% of Catholics not following the bishops' contraceptive instructions?

I'm a Catholic, and I don't want to be forced to pay for someone else's abortion drugs with the money I put in the collection plate. Yet that's exactly what Washington is decreeing.

Oh? Do tell. Chronicle the trip of the $.50 you put in the collection plate every week from the church to the abortion clinic, please.

It's bald-facedly obvious that 95% of the "liberals" pontificating against the Church about this have no understanding of this issue. Many Church-provided services are being forced by Washington to cover (and therefore pay for) employees' "birth control," which includes abortion inducing drugs. And who provides the funds that the Church uses to provide these services? The congregants.
