Did you go to kindergarten or first grade? Those kids FEEL compelled to say it, the teacher tells them the wording of the Pledge and they repeat what they're told.

Christianity is supposed to be a free choice. Forcing people to participate in Christian rituals or recognition is counter to free choice.
We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. --Unknown

Lewis Wolpert –The older people get, the older they believe 'old' to be.

    No.

Liberal's use of the word "interpret" in this regard simply means "get it to say something with which we agree".

    In short: make sh!t up.
Paul Ryan 2016. By then, even the most stupid among us would be unable to deny the need.

Truth is, you could shove Obama's knowledge of small business operations and job creation up an gnats butt and it would rattle around like a marble in an empty supertanker. -- Neil Boortz

A reference to God is not a Christian ritual - and there is no forcing of kids to the pledge. If there is a true objection, the kids are not compelled.

    Stop making stuff up.

Do they have free choice when parents are trying to convince them there is no God, or do we allow them to make up their own mind?
Beam me up Scottie, no intelligent life down here.

More accurately, it has been twisted to imply what atheists think the establishment clause ought to mean, since such meaning is nowhere to be found in the amendment itself.

Bearing in mind the distinction between atheists and atheism, decent people can't help but be at war with the latter merely by breathing.

I was never forced to say it...

Never heard of any kids being disciplined for not saying it, nor is there any push to have kids follow Christianity...

    They're just words...

Whether you believe it or not, is entirely up to you...
    Peace.

    That's the answer, right there.

Oh, you know better than that, and stop pretending otherwise. A reference to God may not be specifically Christian but it's still a spiritual declaration that violates the first amendment. And we're talking about schoolkids and you act as though they can't be compelled without being physically forced -- for me to believe that you actually believe this, I would have to believe that you were never a child. Are you an android? No? Then stop being nonsensical.
    Be free.

Under God was not the original wording. The wording was changed during the Cold War to draw contrast between the US and the Soviet Union.

It should be returned to its original state.
Just because I find your religion silly does not mean I am an atheist.
