If you were actually an adult, you'd know - for instance - that you CANNOT get a mortgage loan to buy a house without having HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE. Why? JUST IN CASE something happens to the house.

The bottom line is very simple. Driving is a PRIVILEGE. Carry automobile insurance, or WALK.

Actually, spoken like a mature adult. You have a choice: Carry insurance, or walk.

    Grow up, junior.

Do you support people being forced to buy health insurance, if they are to drive? And thus have the "option" to carry health/life insurance, or else not drive?

    Non sequitur.

And anybody knows that YOU are not responsible enough to pay for it yourself.

Either grow up and carry insurance, or don't drive.
    Good reply.

Not happy about paying for car insurance? Get a bicycle.

    Waitaminute.

You note that you can pay the DMV $500, and you don't have to carry insurance...

...and you call car insurance the scam??

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, the scam in your State sounds like...

No, it is not. I could easily hurt your body badly if I wrecked your car and it were my fault on the road. Does that mean I should not only be forced to pay for car insurance, but health insurance too, or else not drive? What about other forms of insurance that would protect your family's financial well-being in case you died from that wreck?

    Security over liberty, eh?
The number of stupid comments you're putting up is getting staggering. There are a lot of things you're not "free" to do. You're not free to engage in a privileged behaviour without first meeting your responsibilities.

That includes getting a driver's license. I asked you this before, and I believe you ignored it.

Should you have to have a license (proof that you've learned the rules of the road) in order to be able to drive?

So that justifies me having to pay for your damages before they ever, if ever, happen? I disagree, frankly.
I don't give a crap if you do - it's not your call to make. If you want to beg society's indulgence to make use of roads we have collectively paid for, you are dámned well going to obey the rules set forth for so doing - or you'll pay the consequences.

You do realize that if car insurance were voluntary, rather than state-enforced, car insurance companies would have to actually be good enough to attract customers voluntarily, just like any other private market, do you not?
Making the product mandatory has nothing to do with the free market pressures still in place forcing insurance companies to do their best to woo subscribers.

Or haven't you noticed the millions of dollars being spent by Geico, Farmer's, Allstate, Progressive, AmFam, etc to woo your business?

Your excuse is - again - stupid.

If it is your fault, you pay. Isn't that the "risks of going on the road"? If you don't want liability for your own actions, then don't drive.

BTW, New Hampshire is the only state that does not require one has auto insurance. But you are still liable for the damages, it is just that the person you hit or their insurance company has to sue you if you can't/won't pay.

Big George is correct; this is a non-sequitur. Health Insurance is coverage for oneself; not for others.

Figure out the difference, for crissakes.
