The Nazis made most of their political alliances to gain power on the right. They were a conservative party in that their policies were about conserving what they saw as traditions.

You show the difference in your response. American right wing shouldn't be about getting more power like the germany right wing. The TEA party is the example of how the right is trying to expell the progressive righties and get back to a smaller government political envioroment. There is a major difference between the right of the US and the "right" of the old EU.
You lefties are the same, whether it is US lefties, or USSR lefties. Bigger governments, smaller peoples voice.
