Default One day Americans will awaken from their "dream"...

... and realise that they are little more than a geographical smudge between Canada and Mexico that has had it too good for too long.

Most of them will go into shock of psychotic proportions. Many of them already have.

They will be appalled to learn that there are rivals out "there" they will need to be polite to. Many of them are nuclear armed, so politesse is all they have as a negotiating chip.

The point is of course that the US is at the mercy of countries and blocs that neutralise any advantages, economic and military, uninformed Americans like to think the US has.

So Obama's bowing here and there simply acknowledges global realities.

Most Americans are too uninformed to even know what you are talking about.
"They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness" (Ps. lxxxii. 5). Truth, in spite of all its powerful manifestations, is completely withheld from them, and the following words of Scripture may be applied to them, "And now men see not the light which is bright in the skies" (Job xxxvii. 21). They are the multitude of ordinary men: there is no need to notice them in this treatise.

    :- Maimonides.

Yes, their dedication to ignorance is legendary.

Which will make their inevitable awakening even more painful.

Under any Republican (except the loon Paul) they will launch wars of frustration. Which they will also lose.

One day Americans and non-Americans alike will realize that American citizens are not in control of their government, but the highest levels have been usurped by criminals.

They might even realize that Obama is one of a long line of ruthless Kings. That might be a racist statement, I'm not sure.

Who wouldn't want to take control over the most free and prosperous nation in history and turn it into a controlled social-fascist-imperialist (*)(*)(*)(*)hole?

The State has never been created by a "social contract"; it has always been born in conquest and exploitation.

What provokes your extreme anti Americanism?

You don't see Americans running down New Zealand.

Then again, why would anyone bother.....

This forum is full of topics created by americans attacking foriegn nations, so only fair and right the same happens to them. Although this is a question for the owner to deal with. Her forum.

On this subject, reminds of the old joke.

Why don't europeans have the american dream?

because (we, i am brit but like being european due to intergration to the EU) europeans are awake.

Although this has probably been said many times before, are there any others that better describe?

So awake that you Euros sacrificed your sovereignty for an unelected, banker-run, forced-austerity, culture-destroying union with a failing currency.

Maybe EU should go to sleep then, have an 'american dream'

And dream of fluffy dogs and rainbows, of freedom. Such a wonderful land, with Gw bush junior with a working brain being the sheriff.

Americans have fallen asleep and that's when the dream ended. Everyone is asleep as power creeps out of the hands of the people. All of this centralization of authority is about power, not about the betterment of the people, better believe it.

And yet, non-Americans scoff at people who wish for a return to more constitutional governance. Those who want power returned to the hands of the people and states are ignorant. What we need is more centralized top-down socialism for prosperity they believe.

The progression of the EU reminds me of the degradation of America, as the Feds took more and more power from the states and the people, now it's just an entity unto itself, serving special interests and acting as the world police, drowning in debt.

Usa is in debt up to obamas eyeballs, yet due to this 'american dream' americans are lost in self denial. Yes europe has problems, but they are faceing them head on to deal with them however difficult it maybe.

But the usa is not doing that. They are still asleep, dreaming of fluffy dogs and rainbows......
