    We are drilling more.

    and yet...

    Guess why?

Because if we up production, other countries, particularly OPEC decrease production. Sell fewer barrels and make the same or more money, well YEAH!!

Drilling permits that fall within the jurisdiction of the federal govt have been denied, delayed, and refused.

Obama ia showing he wants higher Oil prices

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/73795.html

Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) wryly congratulated Obama on his lobbying efforts.
“That was very strong work by President Obama himself, making personal calls to Democrats,” Lugar said. “He understood that a majority of the American public and a majority at least of the Senate are strongly in favor of this project.
“So I suppose you give credit to the president for once again blocking something, but I don't think the president really wants to do that indefinitely,” he added.
“We got a majority in the Senate,” said amendment sponsor Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.), who noted that two senators — Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and John Thune (R-S.D.) — were absent. “So we would have had 58 votes had all Republicans been able to be here.”
Republicans promised that the issue, which has been a staple of the campaign trail since Obama first attempted in November to punt the decision until 2013, will not go away.
“We’re very close to the 60,” Hoeven said. “It’s hard to say exactly which members maybe would have supported without White House intervention, but I think the important thing is that the support is there, and the support is there because the public wants this to happen.
“The pressure is just going to increase on the administration to get this project done,” Hoeven added.

Actually, what is PARTICULARLY IRONIC about nutcase hate-Obama Righty positions like Trinnity's is that the prospect of WAR WITH IRAN is WHY oil and gas prices have shot up NOW!

Geopolitics also play a role in oil's cost. Last year's Arab Spring uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa roiled oil markets, especially when production was briefly halted in Libya. More recently, Iranian threats to close to Strait of Hormuz, the world's most strategic choke point for the transport of Middle East oil, has kicked up the fear factor.

And frankly, more and more speculators are buying oil and gas futures are desperately hoping to be the ones holding a good futures contract when oil suddenly doubles and triples when the bombs fly!

They will become millionaires overnight on a small amount of money invested.

Not to mention all the producers holding back stockpiles of crude and refined gas and diesel waiting to cash in the same way as prices double.

Are speculators making energy prices rise?

Investors looking for better returns on their money have a hand in driving up oil and gasoline prices. On commodity futures exchanges, hedge funds and other investors — possibly including your retirement fund — have been pouring record amounts of money into long-term bets that oil and gasoline prices will continue to increase.

"There is a large speculative element to this early rally," said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst for the Oil Price Information Service. "The Commodities Futures Trading Commission has seen the greatest buying skew ever among the hedge funds, commodity pools and index funds that often park money in gasoline futures and options" as well as oil futures.

Same old same old with this guy.Rush Limbaugh was right all along.
Obama actually despises this country, exactly as Jeremiah Wright
has and also the new mystery man uncovered this week.
The soon to be ever Infamous Derrick Bell.A Radical, make no
    mistake.A civil right's guy ... NO ... the exact opposite.An NAACP member
who was asked to resign.Citing a lack of objectivity.Bell was an agitator.
Harvard had to ask him to go on leave for all the trouble he had been
causing the school .Harvard Law faculty calling him " a media manipulator
who unfairly attacked the school." Gee kinda sounds famaliar, now doesn't
it.No wonder the Media is downplaying the Breitbart Video showing Obama
giving Bell a genuine big Hug and proudly proclaiming to the students
at that Protest Rally to " Open your hearts and Minds " to this man.

So,Obama can't influence the price of gas.But of course we were lectured
just the opposite about Bush.Higher gas was a refelction on his
Governance.Obama came into office with gas at $1.85/ga.
It's at $4.oo right now in many parts of the country.$5 in some places.
Newt Gingrich said the President could tomorrow put his signature
on 3 bills and get things moving forward where 2.3 Million barrels/day
or 800 million a year is obtainable.Yes,that and a combination of
better efficient vehicles and alternative sources of energy.
But I think Obama kinda likes to manipulate the media.
Gee I wonder where that Idea'r came from.

for oil.Bush and Cheney just wanted to get rich off oil.
Like what ever happened to that hourly chant.A chant screeched like
mad banshee at Americans on every media Venue.
I haven't heard that since Obama took over.
Whatever became of all those Oil Riches Bush and Cheney went into
    Iraq for.

The chart shows US oil production is up since 2009, and that same chart shows this is the first increase since 1984.

    Semantics on why are unimportant.

    It is what it is.
