Default Irony?

Here's a set of thoughts comparing the overseas messes of the past decade or
so and placing them in a clearer, however confusinglight. ...I'm trying to
get all this political stuff straightened out in
my head so I'll know how to vote come November.

Lemme see, have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists -
good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good....
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad....

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good.
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

Clinton says mass graves in Serbia - good...
Entire world says WMD in Iraq - bad..

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good...
Recession under Bush - bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - Bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nucs - good...
Bush says Saddam has nucs - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good...
Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...
No WMD found Iraq - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam in custody - bad...

Liberal thinking is a little backwards on some things, dont you think??

Default MORE SPIN

Its the never ending story..

I believe Clinton stated he was "never offered" BIN LADEN. Are you saying he is lying?

I am sure if I took the time, I could come up with a similar thesis in favour of Clinton.

Default .

While there are some stretches there, its pretty darn funny illustration of all the current hypocrisy. The funniest part is that "left wingers" could just as easily turn that around. "Right wingers" are currently putting up with Bush's liberal policies and idiocy while they railed against Clinton for the same reasons.

Bush would've been a great president for the Republicans to say, "thanks for the 4 years, but we have someone else in mind."

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton didn't manufacture the war that made the contracts necessary...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Bush has spent, and will spend waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than $87 Billion in Iraq. For more info go to www.costofwar.com for an idea of what it is costing in real-time...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

One was to prevent an ongoing campaign of genocide..
One was to avenge his Daddy...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists -
good... Wrong
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...By killing 15,000 of them?

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good....Ooops
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad....Now wait, I thought republicans complained when President Clinton did that..??

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good. Absolutely and completely 100% false. An absolute lie. President Clinton committed ZERO felonies.
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...At a cost to the US taxpayers of $1 million+, to make a campaign speech which turned out to be 100% wrong...."Mission Accomplished"? I don't think so.....

Clinton says mass graves in Serbia - good...There were mass graves...
Entire world says WMD in Iraq - bad..Entire world did NOT say that, and those that did, and invaded were 100% wrong...

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good... The 'crash' occurred under Lt AWOL's watch...Look at the charts....Recession under Bush - bad...Yup...very bad...millions of unemployed, bankruptcies and foreclosures at record highs VERY bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...Bull-Sh** More right-wing fantasyland bullcrap....
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - Bad...(*)(*)(*)(*) straight it was bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nucs - good...
Bush says Saddam has nucs - bad...

Equally bad with one exception, Clinton didn't have to invade to prove he was wrong..unlike Smirky McAWOL. BTW, they knew BEFORE the invasion he didn't have nukes..

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...Yup, by peaceful means
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...with an illegal, unilateral "pre-emptive" invasion...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good...No, not good but we didn't give the Taliban $47 million like bush did.. Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...All of them? Really? When?

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...Wrong
No WMD found Iraq - bad...Right..VERY bad....it means the reason for the war was WRONG!!!

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...It's called due process....
Saddam in custody - bad...Has he been sentenced yet? (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) I missed that too...!!!

Republican thinking is a little backwards on some things, dont you think??

Default Actually the truth here cuts both ways

This illustrates the selective blindness found in both conservative & liberal camps. Each side will tell you they are angels and the other side is comprised mostly of devils.

You ever notice how both sides spend an enormous amount of time telling you every fault or flaw with the other side and very little time making constructive changes?

Both partisan camps are the problem. No "ism" is going to do more for the people than a government that is more free of special interest money, more transparent and more accountable for its actions.

He lied before, and he was lying then. Besides, the 9-11 commision confirmed that Clinton was handed Bin Laden, are you saying that THEY are lying?
