Thread: Why don't women have a sense of humor?

  1. Default Why don't women have a sense of humor?

Hell - men get called names all the time and they laugh it off. In fact it's considered a sign of weakness to complain about namecalling. You either laugh or punch out the loudmouth. But our silly women say " He insulted me and i demand society do something."

Hmmmm... because he slandered a private citizen on a national broadcast?... because there laws against that sort of thing?

And you've got to put your bodies on the gears, and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus. And you've got to make it stop

Actually, Fluke is a limited-purpose public figure and malice needs to be shown in relation to the matter that Fluke spoke about before Congress.

While it be entertaining to watch Fluke sue Rush, I have my doubts that she can win.

Fluke was still a private citizen addressing her government.. she wasnt professionally representing anybody. She appeared as a private citizen that was televised by the media. That does not make her a public figure that was being attacked for a public action.

Well, we're all different. I don't sweat the little stuff.
In life ya gotta pick your battles and name-calling ain't one of 'em. <shrug>

I didn't say public figure, I said limited-purpose public figure. There is a difference. Fluke purposely put herself in front of public attention over a particular issue that she was trying to influence by going before Congress. They have thrust themselves to the forefront of particular public controversies in order to influence the resolution of the issues involved. In either event, they invite attention and comment.

That does not give her the same protection as a private citizen.

I have often wondered this too. I have never met one with an original sense of humour or the slightest wit.

I imagine it is because they are hard-wired to think in terms of breast-feeding and post-partum depression.

Which, let's face it, are not all that funny.

They compensate for their lack of humour by being kleptomaniacs.

They do have a sense of humor. They're called conservative women. Sarah Palin went straight into enemy territory on Saturday Night Live and handled herself like a pro. I wouldn't expect that from frigid, left wing penis-packers like Fluke and Allred, though.
"Oh, what's that? So now you say life sucks? Well, 99% of it's what you make of it. So if your life sucks, you suck." - Mike Muir

If you feel underpaid, try producing something useful. See if your net worth doesn't increase.

The caselaw described in that article doesnt apply here. Those were cases of libel committed through second hand knowledge.. this clearly a case of slander committed by one private citizen on another.

Sarah Palin doesnt have to do much to be funny.. just being herself is enough.. give that wingnut a mic and set her loose
