Thread: Pay for My ____________

Apparently, I am morally obligated to subsidize some random woman's sex life because she happens to live in the same country as me.

Apparently, no one actually expects her to exercise personal responsibility for her lifestyle choices.

So, with this new standard in mind, I ask you, what should the government force us to pay for? Cellphones? Gaming consoles? Sex toys? Luxury sedans? Music? Which items are acceptable and which ones aren't? Why?

Personally, I think the government should subsidize firearms. That way, Americans will have the means to defend their life and liberty should the need arise; also, it would serve to better equip our citizen militias, who are expected to defend the homeland from all threats, foreign and domestic. Really, there is no reason not to do this.

Oh! Good one! Yes, ammunition, too. Tax dollars should go towards subsidizing both firearms and ammunition. Americans have a Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Yes, cigarettes. Why not? If you don't get your fix, this might cause your stress-levels to go beyond a certain threshold, resulting in violent outbursts and such. It would be prudent to make sure that your stress levels remain as low as possible. Of course, this means we'll also have to pay for your chemotherapy as well. But everyone knows that's the proper function of our government, to buy stuff for people, so what the heck? Plus, we have infinite amounts of money, so it's financially okay.

Why not just cut to the chase and give us a living wage? I mean c'mon, the rich don't deserve to be THAT rich... they could bankroll this thing.

im neutral on covering contraception being used for birth control. but what about the medical conditions other than birth control, like ovarian cysts? if a doctor was legally prohibited from prescribing it for birth control, would that be ok?

I think the US government should subsidise tertiary education, myself.
